I love to drive and roam around the city completing the list of mom.
But i never imagined that i will drive it in steep slopes ...mountainous regions of uttarakhand.
When you have a best friend who loves to do all the crazy things you always wanted to do.
Then how can it be impossible to do which i have never imagined.
Having such a bff for life who can share the same wishlist and takes care to complete my wishlist along with his can be a blessings.
So
It was an unplanned scooty drive in pahadon mein.
We took an access 125 on rent in Rishikesh..just to give a try ..we just went out of the hotel thinking what to do and where to go in Rishikesh as we have not planned or checked tourist spots in Rishikesh.
He always plans our each and every itinerary but this time it was impromptu.
Having No plans.. lead us to
Scooty wala.
And we hired a scooty for 600/- just to explore rishikesh.
We informed him that we will return it by 9pm...on this he said bhaiya ji ..everyone says the same and they take it for 3-5 days.
We were a bit worried initially but later on we were fine with it .
While sitting on the rocks of ganga ghat ..he said what to do now..we have spent already almost 3 hours at the same place and i was like let's go back .there is nothing to explore in Rishikesh.
Suddenly he was like let's go to New Tehri on a long drive on the curved road made by cutting through the big mountains.
Initially i was hesitant about the type of road ..whether we will be able to drive or not ??is it safe or not ??many questions popped through the mind.
He said he have checked everything and let's move .
So we left for New Tehri (~70km) from Rishikesh on a bike i.e. Access 125.
We were enjoying this ride.we wanted to reach the destination before it becomes dark.
So while going he drove and while coming back i drove through the curvy steepy highway.
We really enjoyed this...long i must say very very long drive.
We drove for approximately 450km.
Rishikesh -> New Tehri -> Tehri Dam -> Chamba -> rishikesh.
We came back to rishikesh as we kept our luggage in the hotel we stayed in. We just took one dress for each of us and moved to Tehri.
So again
We hired scooty more for 4days ..so tatally we hired it for 6days.
Again
Rishikesh ->dehradun ->mussoorie,the queen of hills.

It sounds like a fun ride. I would have never expected a Scooty to work on the mountain rides given the cc.
ReplyDeleteMust have been such a personal and private time you spent riding in the hills. So romantic. God Bless you dear. One thing i never learnt was cycle and scooter riding. I tried on a luna once and landed in a ditch :) f After that i didn't try.
ReplyDeleteUnplanned trips are the best. Taking cues from your mood often yields the best experience.
ReplyDeleteWow! We normally hire a bike for our mountain rides. Impromptu decisions are many a times the most memorable ones.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great road trip even for a car maybe? Though I’m sure you had the best time on a two wheeler!
ReplyDeleteTwo wheelers on mountain roads can be tricky, particularly if they have a lower cc. Enjoyed reading about your adventure.
